Is there a trick to making reports? I want a LOT of data on one page, in
4 or 5 columns, maybe 6 or eight lines each, but it is like, I have to do it
field by field and size it and stuff. Are there ready-made templates I
should be using?

Jack,

I'm not sure if this will help, but you should investigate Files | Page
setup | Columns tab, which may allow you to accomplish what you need. Be sure
to specify the column layout at the bottom of the dialogue box, depending on
how you want your data to read.

It didn't help much. How do I get rid of all the blank space where there
is no data, so that it goes right to the next record?

Move the controls in the detail section up so that they're close to the
detail 'bar'. Then grab the page footer bar and move it up so that it is
against the bottom of your controls.
