I have a access97 mdb that will not allow me to compact. It tells me that
two users are tying to update the same data. I have gotten everyone out and
searched for lock files and have found none.
One user can get in the program very quickly (I would imagine this is one of
the users that the program thinks is updating a record) another user can get
in but it takes a minute or two for the program to load up. Another user
gets a file in use error when they try to open the program.
I don't know if this might be the culprit but I am trying to convert the
Access97 app to Access 2K. I have copied the original access97 application
on to my local machine and converted it to Access 2 k.
The mdb file that can not be compacted has tables that are linked to the
original application and now to the access2k application that is on my local
machine. I do not belive that I have tried to open the corropted mdb in
access2k.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
