Compact and Repar

after I compact and repair in access 2007, the file size dosent change so Im
not sure if it worked. Do I need to save and or replace after that?

To make sure the Compact and repair is working properly, make several copies
of the database and delete some objects from 1 of them. Then try a compact
and repair. Does the database get smaller? Also, if your database is split
(as it should be for more than 1 user on a small database), Compacting the
front-end will not compact the data. You must compact the back-end
separately.

So ITS would have to compact and repair? What abot asking someone in a older
version to do it?

If the data is on the server, that's the database where the compact must be
done. Normally, Office/Access is not running on the server, so it's done
usually by an IT admin logged into the server from a local machine. The
compact can be done with any version of Access equal to, or later than the
format of the data.
