Compact and repair

hi,
can any body tell me what is the point of compact and repair the database?
 
compact and repair has been depecrated

u need to move to Access Data Projects
ADP includes MSDE which has this SQL Agent Scheduler-- which is easy to use
in order to setup a 'database maintenance plan'

MDB is just more trouble then it is worth
