my laptop bit the dust...but not till after my basement

destroyed. i had purchased WinXP seperatley from my
computer and directly from microsoft...now i cannot re-
load win xp. i have the disks still, but not my book with
my cd key on it. anyone know if there is any way possible
to retrieve this from microsoft? i just purchased
office03 with a license for 3 comps and need it on my
laptop, but it will not work with Win Me(ver. that came on
it). Please if anyone has an idea how or if I can get the
key from microsoft....i still have a reciept for an
advance deposit on the XP and paid for the rest on a
credit card.
thanks in advance,
br

Office 2003 is not designed to work with Windows ME.

I believe he knows that Office 2003 will not work with Windows ME. He said
as much. That's why he is trying to get the Windows XP key so he can reload
it!

Carey is right. It will run only on 2000 and XP. Besides ME was not a real
operating system. It was an April Fool's joke that Microsoft was playing on
people buying new systems.

Yes, I know that, and obviously so did the OP that I quoted. I was
making fun of Carey for effin' restating it to the OP who had already
said he knew it. Hell, it was the OP's main reason for why he's trying
to find a way to recover his lost XP Product Key in the first place.

Carey has the tendency towards not comprehending the posts he replies
to, from time to time, and needs a love tap or two to get him back on
the straight and narrow.

ME was MS's first attempt at copy protection. Who the hell in their
right minds would want to copy that piece of sh*t! ;-)

If you can get any results going through MS, just type "XP keygen" in
the search box at the link provided above.

But good luck trying to get a positive response from MS. Let us all
know how that works out.
