You need to communicate information: what factors should you consider when
deciding if a PowerPoint Presentation is better than a word-processed
document?

This sounds like a homework assignment....

That's an interesting question.

To me, it's a question of the medium you'll use to distribute the information.

If you'll give a presentation on screen in front of a large audience, then
PowerPoint's the tool for the job.

If you'll distribute a printed document, then probably a word-processed
document makes more sense.

If you'll distribute the information electronically, then it's a bit more of a
tossup. If the material and the audience calls for lots of linearly presented
material ... a long text document, then word processed is the way to go.

If the material requires animation or multimedia to make it clearer (or the
audience needs a faster-paced/livelier/smaller-chunked presentation) then
PowerPoint's the better bet.
