I encountered problem with some AdWares such as
CommonName. It creates its own LSP over UDP and TCP
protocols. After removing CommonName by AntySpyWare LSP
were still registered! But non-functinal... and it
becomes impossible to connect with DNS and Web
servers.Nothing helps except to reinstall CommonName.

What about applying the LSP reset fixes as detailed in these articles:

The above works easily for XP SP2, and has, with a linked KB article, the
info you need for Windows 2000 through XP SP1.

The utility below automates the work on the earlier versions: (i.e. windows
2000 through XP SP1.) (I think it works fine on xp SP2 too, but netsh
winsock reset is simpler.
