Why is the -live switch only available with -commitanddisable? What if i dont
want to disable EWF, just commit without having to reboot? Can i execute a
ewfmgr -enable just after my ewfmgr -commitanddisable -live?

Thanks

Let me see:
You have running image and you would like -commit -live. That would write current FS info which would remain in undetermined open FS
state. Very bad thing.
Can i execute a ewfmgr -enable just after my ewfmgr -commitanddisable -live?
Yes you can. Unfortunately EWF will be enabled after the reboot.

If there was -enable -live switch it would also leave FS in nondetermined open state.

Slobodan
