i know this might sound crazy. but lately my computer
will play a commercial through my speakers. the ones that
i've actually listened to, are advertisements for movies.

Make it an aluminum foil hat? Seriously, you must have something running
that is playing the ads - this cannot happen by itself. Even if you
took the red pill. You might have a media player running in the
background - Windows Media Player, Quicktime, RealOne. You might have
spyware that is connecting to some movie site - a Fandango type place,
maybe? (I'm not accusing the Fandango people!). Look in Task Manager to
see what's running when this happens. Remove spyware with Spybot Search
& Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com.
