Command window go off !

Hi all,
Each time I try to use the command window (start, run) I Get the
window up while it is pinging, but as soon as it has finished it goes off
before I can read the results. Anyone got any ideas please.

Supposed to work like that. Type in cmd instead.

Run it in a Command Prompt windows. COMMAND.COM or CMD.EXE.

Start --> run --> cmd
or
Start --> run --> command

Once you are in the windows, now use the 'ping' utility.

Start | Run is not the command window. If you type a command like
"ping" there, it temporarily opens such a window, but when the
command completes, the window closes.

You need to open the command prompt window first, by typing CMD
at the Start | Run line. Once you have the window, then type ping
in the window. Since you opened the window first, it stays open
until *you* close it, and you can see the results of the ping.
