Combo Boxes on report

Hi

Apologies posted this before without a subject!

Have a couple of combo boxes on a report. Is there any way of allowing them
to expand, perhaps programatically, similarly to Text Boxes with Can Grow set
to Yes?

I am working in Access 2002.

Thanks

When I saw your question, for interest purposes only, I tried to put a
combobox on a report. I doesn't display but besides that, I cant see why you
would want one on a report anyway. A report is based through a form to a
query so when you run the report, it displays what you have displayed either
on the form or the underlying query?

Please expand on what you are doing?

A combo box has a can grow, can shrink property but again this falls back to
the same question above.

If you mean on a form, the can grow can shrink properties only work if you
are printing the form, under display on the screen, they will not grow or
shrink.

Sorry if I have mis-understood your question

Kindest Regards

Hi Mike

I am using dynamic reports using forms with combo boxes and a filter,
enabling the user to filter reports.

I am not sure if I have done this in the best possible way, but since you
ask why I have combo boxes on my report makes me think I probably haven't. If
I use a text box control I am only able to show the index number of the field
on the report.

I think I may need to go back to the drawing board and have a rethink.

Hi Will, I can now see your other thread on this issue. I think perhaps I was
a little confused as to how you could get a Combo to show on a report. A
query source for the report with the criteria based on the items selected on
a forms Combo box is the way I would do this. Its easy to select the criteria
row of a query then select build and point to query criteria to the combo on
the form. Opening the report will then filter out all except for the data you
have selected in the combo box.

I hope this is a bit more clear than I think it is???

Kindest Regards
