Combo Box Error

When I try to retrieve a source field while creating a combo box, I get a
message saying, "Data cannot be retrieved from the source you have selected.
You must select a different table or query to continue in the wizard."

Can anybody tell me why this is happening and how to solve this problem?
 
Could you provide a bit more context? What are you doing when this happens?
