Combo Box Data Space Larger Than Combo Box Size

Is there a way to increase the size of the displayed data fields and keep the
box at a set size?

If I have combo box with a width of 1.25" and when I click on the combo box
I want to expand the area of the listed to say 2.0". I already have the
AutoExpand set to YES but it stays at the box width of 1.25".

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

MJ,

In design view of your form, click on the combo box and then go to the left
or right...wait for the little tiny arrow, click and drag to desired width.
Note, Auto Expand does not cause the combo to grow. To have Auto Expand
explained go to the Properties and Auto Expand and press F1 on your
keyboard.

Gina,

Thank you for your response. I do not want to increase the size of the box
itself, I want to increase the size of the displayed data for the combo box
when selecting from the combo box. I hope that clarifies my original request.

MJ,

Go to the Properties of the Combo Box and look for Column Widths, set the
widths to what you want. And yes that did clarify your original post.

Try changing the List Width property of the combo box from Auto to 2
(or whatever).

That was exactly the piece I was missing. I knew that it was possible and
had used it before, I was fooled by the "auto" thinking that it would adjust
to accommodate the size of the columns that I was using.

Thank you

I've been caught by that assumption also ... apparently "Auto" in this
property means Access automatically decides whatever...<g>
