I could really could use some help to combine the contents of Column (A )
and (B) into Column (C) I'm not very knowledgeable with Excel or using
formulas. The example I have is: First Name in column A Last name in
Column B I want to put First and Last name into one Column C Thanks

Thanks but I must be doing something wrong since the only thing that shows
up in Column C is the formula.

Select column C
Format|Cells|Number tab
choose General

Then reenter the formula (and drag down)

I'm afraid I'm just not getting it ! I have been trying for over and hour. I
just can't seem to combine the first name amd last name into one column. as
I said before, I just started to working with excel and have a lot to learn
but I appreciate the help. Thanks, Richard

Maybe you can try it again and keep track of your steps.

Then (if it fails), post back with your steps and any problem at any step.

ps.

You could be looking at formulas, too.

In xl2003 and below, you can use:
Tools|Options|View tab|uncheck Formulas.

If Formulas is already unchecked, then this wasn't the problem.

You could also use a shortcut to toggle this setting:
ctrl-~ (control-backquote, to the left of the 1/! key on my USA keyboard)
