Combining OL 2000 and OL 2003

I have a desktop machine running XP Pro and Outlook 2003, a server running
Windows 2003 server with Exchange 2003 and a laptop running WIN98 that I
cannot update. The laptop uses Outlook 2000.

I keep getting messages that I have duplicate copies
of the same message and the dialog box that asks me to pick which one I want
to keep. I'm thinking it happens mostly when I'm on my laptop and usually
after a syncronization. This happened after I did a clean install of XP Pro
and the first OL I put on was 2003.

The only way I could get rid of the problem was to reformat my desktop and
put OL 2000 on it. Is there any way I can get rid of that problem. I
really liked Outlook 2003 this is driving me crazy. Would an upgrade to
OL 2003 now that I have 2000 on my desktop solve the problem?

Thanks for any help you can give.

You will definitely encounter issues when accessing the same Exchange
mailbox with multiple Outlook versions. Upgrading the laptop would be worth
a try, unless you depend heavily on Word integration features.

Thanks for the reply. I may give upgrading the laptop a try but its an old
sony vaio picturebook that they don't make any more and haven't supported
past Win98. I don't think there are video and sound and other drivers for
it unless I get lucky and XP has them all.
