Combining child and root domain

We currently have a parent/child domain structure with
the child domain connected via 768K T1. The reasons that
I set it up this way are no longer valid and I am
considering combining the two domains into a single
domain with DC's at each site. How would I approach this
situation as far as moving all the computer and user
accounts to the root domain and then removing the child
domain? Your imput is appreciated!

You should migrate all objects from the child domain to the parent using
ADMT. Then you can do a graceful demotion on the child thus scrapping that
domain. The new member server can then be repromoted as a DC in the parent
domain.
