I used a 40g HD on a Window XP Pro pc. I used Windows 98 startup disk to formated and partition a 40g HD. I got a partition in 2g and 37 on the other partition. After installed Windows XP in the 2g HD. I wanted to combine two partitions together. How can I do it? Thank you.

You'll need to use a third party partitioning program that can
non-destructively work with partitions to accomplish this.

In order to preserve data you will have to use a third party app, eg
Partition Magic.
Otherwise boot from WinXp Disk and folow instructions to delete partitions
and install etc
ie there was no need to use the win98 startup disk.
