Combine Form with Link?

Jane S.

I am trying to link some dept's. within our college to the main one.
Students and teachers sometimes type in an incorrect address and I'm trying
to provide a "wake up call" for the errant travelers.

I'm guessing this could be done with some sort of Form Component but am not
sure. Our main address is: nhmccd.edu which everyone seems to able to find.
How can I insert a Form Component, text box or what I will call simply a
"box" to force someone to type in some additional address information in
front of the nhmccd.edu to take them to the right place after they have
landed at nhmccd.edu? For example, _________nhmccd.edu with the
"_____________" being the box I just described. Thank you.

How about providing a TOC at that point, where they can select the correct
subdomain or section.

How would the subdomain be changing?

Basically, the TCO would contain a listing of links to the various home
pages for each of the subdomains.

Otherwise, how would a user know what subdomain to type into a form field,
it that was a doable option?

I think an empty TCO is what we need. (I volunteered to find out how to do
this over the weekend.) Can the box that I described earlier be placed in
front of the main address? _______nhmccd.edu, like so? The visitor would
then have to type in the address where the box is blank.

Jane,

I am confused. If the user already knows the correct subdomain, why would
the just type it in the address bar of their browser as:

subdomain.nhmccd.edu

If the issue that they don't know it, then how will you handle them typing
in the correct subdomain?

A better solution would be to have a drop down menu selection when they can
select the department/section etc. which would then take them to the correct
subdomain.

You can find a script on my site at the following URL to do this:

I'm in over my head. I think the dep't. heads wanted to give out some
information this way, but I'm just not sure about that now. I only
volunteered to find out because I thought it would be a simple thing to do.
