Columns in sub-report on detail section

Hi

I have a 1-column report with a couple of group sections. I have a
sub-report as part of the detail section that works well and retrieves a
number of records for each record in my detail section.

It would be good if I can display this in 2 columns instead of 1. When the
sub-report is opened on its own, the 2 columns are there. How can I get it to
show 2 columns when shown as a sub-report on my detail section.

I have read other posts surrounding this topic (snaking is set to across
then down on the sub-report) but still don't understand!

All help gratefully received.

Sorry - I've noticed that my problem only applies to report view. In print
layout view, it works fine!
