Columns distributed evenly in worksheet

Aussie

I have a table I need to add to an Excel document. The data above it and
below it are different cell widths. I need to be able to insert the table
with evenly distributed columns. Inserting something like a continous page
break (like in word) would work but I can't seem to find anything like that
in Excel. I have attempted to make the table in word & import it over but
that doesn't work either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is one way...

You could create the table, with evenly distributed columns, in a separate
Excel workbook. Delete all the sheets in that workbook except the one with
the table, and begin the table in cell A1. Save & close the workbook. Then,
in your other workbook, select the cell where you want to include the table,
then select Insert >> Object >> Create from file >> Browse. Navigate to the
workbook with the table and click Insert. As an inserted object, the table
will retain its evenly distributed columns.

Hope this helps,

Another way...

Use a screen capture utility like SnagIt or the Snipping Tool (if you're
using Vista) to capture an image of your table. You could capture, then paste
directly into your other workbook, or you could capture, save as a graphics
file, then insert it into your other workbook.

Hope this helps,

I'm not sure how you want your table laid out.

You say you need to add the table to Excel but then say the data above and below
have different cell widths.

Do you mean "have" or "want to have"?

Single cells don't have widths

Columns have widths which are the property of the entire column(s)

Perhaps you have or need some merged cells above or below?
