column headings

Windows XP, Office 2003: How do I type column headings? When I highlight
"Column A", the whole column highlights.
What's the secret to typing in a word for a column heading? Ex: Address,
City, St, Zip...

you can't change the A... B etc
column headings normally go in row 1 and are formatted to stand out - you
can however, hide the A...B and row numbers if you like
tools / options / view - uncheck row & column headers
