How many times have you been wading through piles of files in multiple columns (say in Details View) and either its too wide
(wasting screen space) or too narrow, forcing you to waste time resizing columns. Has anybody made a program that autosizes columns
all the time?

No program that I know of, but you can highlight any item, then press
Ctrl/+ to size each column. But it must be the + on the numeric keypad;
I haven't seen a way to do it with a laptop..

If you double-click on the right edge of the column (when the slider shows
up), it will auto-size itself to the widest entry in that field. As long as
"remember folder settings" is checked in folder options, the column will be
the same size next time you open it.
