Colors in Excel 2003

Hi

Excel 2003:
Is there a possibility, to use any RGB-color
(f.e. for the background of a cell)?

I have specified a color in Excel 2007 and then
opened and saved the document in Excel 2003.
After that, the color wasen't equal to the original
specification ... it had changed to a 2003 stan-
dard color. So I have the misgiving, that the
free RGB-definition isn't possible in Excel 2003.
Am I right? Can somebody help me?

Many thanks for any help.

Best Regards George

Hi,

If you are doing the same color palette for any files you export from 2007,
I would suggest modifing the color pallette for 2003 in 2007: Choose Office
Button, Excel Options, Save click the Color button at the bottom of the
window. Select a color and click Modify, choose the Custom tab and continue.

Dear Shane

Thanks for your help.

I don't want to export files from 2007 to 2003.
I would like to know, if it is possible to choose/
use any color I want when working with Excel
2003.

What I have found out with my 2007-test is,
that when I import an under 2007 defined RGB-
color, it switches to a standard colour in 2003.
So I assumed, that the free choosing of colours
starts as of Excel 2007 and is not possible under
Excel 2003.

Am I right?

Best Regards, George
