Hi Stu,
Since you made a clean installation for XP, you need to update your Video
card Driver from the Manufacturer website if you don't have the CD/Floppy
came with it.
Which you have now on your system is the Default MS display settings.
Also update the Motherboard driver from the Manufacturer if the Video is
integrated into the Motherboard.
HTH.

nass

Thanks Dave,

How do I install video drivers, how do I find out what drivers I have etc.

Cheers

Stu

I would checkout their website, they may have downloads available by model
which would save you from having to figure out what drivers you need.

Hi Dave,

It is a Fujitsu - siemans scaleo.

p4 3.00ghz

Thanks

To download the Driver according the Specs of your Video Card (i.e.Serial
number go to this website:
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/downloads.html

To access your Video card Click Start, click Control Panel, and then
double-click System.

2. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

3. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers branch.

4. Double-click the sound card.

5. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then click Next.

6. Follow the prompts to automatically install the driver. If you have
recently downloaded an updated driver, click Install from a list or specific
location (Advanced) to install it.

Check two things:

1. Make sure the cable from the monitor to the computer is tightly fastened.

2. If that doesn't fix it, open up the case, and make sure the video card is
tightly seated in its slot.

One of those is very likely to fix it. If neither does, borrow another
monitor from a friend. If that fixes it you need a new monitor; if it
doesn't fix it you probably need a new video card.
