my problem is that i am preparing a manuscript for submission. it has
three graphs which i developed from excel data. the graphs are ok, but
show up in color. i want them to show in black-and-white since
journals charge a big surcharge to print in color. i can print them in
black-and-white but that simply surpresses the color commands in the
printer. since the manuscript will be submited via e-mail, the color
commands must be surpressed in the excel worksheet.
Thank you

Use the Chart Wizard to choose a Custom Types that starts with B&W.
If the chart type you are using doesn't appear, you can always alter the
colors to Black and White by double-clicking on anything in color and
changing it.
