Color Palette Customization in Word 2003 vs.PowerPoint

I have some customized RGB colors that I would like to save with my document
in Word. I don't see a way to do it. Each time I need the color, I have to
recreate the RGB values on the custom color screen. The color is not saved on
the color palette.

Yet when I create a new color in PowerPoint, it puts the color on the
palette so I can choose it with one click of the mouse and then saves the
color with the file.

Our corporation uses Word much more than Powerpoint. Why the difference
between the two programs? This would be a useful tool to have in Word as well
and it seems silly not to include the functionality.

Is there some way to do this in Word that I just can't find?

Thanks,

Dano

Sorry, Word doesn't do this, but I agree it would be nice if it worked like
Powerpoint does.

Unfortunately, no, you can't customize the palette in Word, but you can save
formatted AutoShapes as AutoText or formatted fonts as character styles.
