Color of Gold/Silver

Hi,
do u think the next display technology should support Gold/Silver colors? I
saw on a lot of web sites, these colors are emulated on the image... Is
there an absolute color of gold on LCD?

Most LCDs can display almost all of the colors that the human eye can
see. However, there are other properties of light that are not
reproducable with current commercial display technologies.
 
Another way of looking at it is in non computer terms. Gold is a metal and
we only know mentally that it is Gold because it reflects light differently
on different facets, and also has reflections because it is a shiny solid
substance. When we want a real Gold effect which in 2D terms (whether on a
computer or in a painting) is only possible by mimicing Gold metal, we have
to paint facets and graduations of shades and highlights of one colour ....
essentially Strong yellow-ochre.
