color depth missing

i was having trouble playing online games from sites such as pogo, recently
the games are taking long to load but during the loading time it would show a
java symbol above the games sooo i uninstalled (not deleted) all java
components and restarted my com. now my color depths are missing and my
screen is distorted... how do i get my color back?

MY only color depth option is 4 bit and my only resolution option is 640x480
which i beleive is fine

See if reinstalling the video card drivers help.
