Color coding incoming email messages

I am trying to set up my inbox by color coding incoming messges. I have gone
to "tools" then "organize" then set up the people by name and color. Example
would be: mail from Steve should show in green.

When I check out what I have done under the formatting tab at the top it
shows correctly, but when mail arrives in my inbox it still comes in all
black.

Any thoughts?

Under "rules and alerts" you can make a rule to have them marked by different
colored flags.
