Color 5402

F

Faith

Greetings,

I want to set up the same color in my powerpoint that my client would like.
The client said their rgb for blue was 5402 and 624 for green. This doesn't
make any sense to me how do I convert this number to the rgb or how do I get
the same color to match this 5402 and 624?
Thanks so much in advance.

Kindest Regards,
Faith

Hi Faith

Sounds like the client is confused - rgb values are between 0 and 255. I use
a free tool called Pixie to find out rgb values - point at anything on your
screen and voila rgb (and other) values right there :)

What Lucy said. It's possible they gave you Pantone colors instead of RGB
values.

How do you match a pantone color to rgb for PPT?

Faith,

Lucy's comment about the pixie tool is a good one. Let's say you have a PDF
file of the color you need to match. If you have the pixie tool loaded, all
you need to do, is hover over the desired color in the PDF and voila, you'll
have your RGB numbers.

Excellent link Sandy - whenever I've found them before they have been taken
down due to, quote, "threatened legal action by Pantone".

Looks like Pantone numbers. These can be rather hard to match in RGB.

If it's Pantone and if you need those conversions frequently, Pantone sells
a Color Bridge Set to convert their values to RGB:
http://www.pantone.com/pages/Products/Product.aspx?pid=286&ca=1

The one on my desk says:

Pantone 5405:
RGB 69 99 122
(a blueish grey)

Pantone 624:
125 161 143
(a greyish green)

Best regards,
Ute
