cold boot crash

every time I shutdown my computer and turn it back on, it'll load to the windows screen then crash. I've managed to stop the restart with the blue screen and I can't find the driver or hardware that's causing it. I uninstalled everything and all its drivers and still nothing. I have good reason to believe that it's radeon's graphics card. (I have a radeon 9700 pro) I've got all the latest drivers and windows updates and I still have this crashing problem. After it crashes it sends me to the windows repair screen and says the file in in the c:/windows/system32 folder . Is there any way to trace the crash. Thanks

Possibly . There is a fix for the corrupted registry . Do you have a disk
that will give you access to the recovery console , (retail disk) ? This
procedure using the information below , should fix it and a repair install
might fix it. Good luck , Jym

it won't load in safe mode either. if I restart it enough it eventually
works. I tried running it in safe mode and it started to load all the files
and said that the c:/windows/system32/config/system.log file was currupt or
something like that. I'm don't remember exactly but it was something in that
nature. Can I fix that?

thanks for the link... I followed the steps and here is the outcome... now from a cold boot it loads to windows. restarts on it's on and then loads windows successfully. It won't be too much of a bother as long as windows it loading instead of giving me a corrupted file error. Thanks.. if you know how to fix this little bug I'd be greatful. If not, It's all good ;). Thanks

Try the repair install to fix your remaining problem. Set bios to boot to
the XP disk and follow prompts to install / repair present installation.
This section is past the repair console that you have used. This will repair
the present install and retain the files , folders and settings. Try check
all boot paths in run / msconfig / boot ini. first. Not really sure what the
problem is but sounds like a boot problem . If so this procedure should fix
it , if not the above should do it . But you will have to redownload the
recent MS fixes. Glad that I could help , Jym
