codecs for xp mediap10

well can anybody help me here. i have a dvd drive that wont play dvd , i
think i need codec but aint sure. can you tell me where i might download
them
windows xp sp2
media player 10

Hi,

I don`t think Window Media player 10 has a built-in DVD player software.
Usually you need to get a third party program to play DVD movies. Windows
Media Player will play AVI and MPEG files which are not the same as the
format that DVD Movies are on the DVD. Only other way I know of besides
actual DVD movie player software is DVD ripper that copies DVD movies into
AVI or MPEG format.

Hey,

Why don't you try PowerDVD instead of Windows Media Player..or Zoom player,
which can play almost all kind of formats as they say..
