cmd.exe opening

Hi,

I have XP and when I start my computer I get the CMD.exe popping up in a dos
box.
It disappears on its own but why is it doing this.

Probably a bug or the remnants of one. You need to isolate where it is

Start - Run - MSConfig.exe and look on the Startup page for a line
having cmd.exe run in the command column: uncheck it. Exit - do not
bother to reboot, but next time you do there will be a message about
'System Configuration'. Check the 'Do not show again' box and exit
