Cluster File Share Resources Failed after failing status check.

Hi,

I need some help in debugging some of my errors messages
in my System Event Log.

I'm running 2 HP Proliant DL380 servers on Win2K Advanced
Server with Sp3 in 2-node MS clustering.

Recently, I've been noticing a series of errors messages
in my system event log. Below is the general format of the
error messages.

Source: ClusSvc
Type: Error
Event ID: 1055
Description: Cluster File Share resource <share name> has
failed a status check. The error code is 1130.

Source ClusSvc
Type Error
Event ID: 1069
Description Cluster File Share resource <share name>
failed.

These are logged consecutively in the event log for all my
cluster file share resources and indicates that these
resources have failed.

Can anyone please enlighten me on these messages?

Thanks in advance.

First step is to verify that the cluster service service account has at
least read access on the share permissions and on the NTFS permissions on
the root of the share.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Will check on it.

By the way, does it mean that without such permissions
assigned to the cluster service account, the cluster file
share resource will fail intermittently? Or will the file
shares fail outright.

My users are still accessing the file shares when i
noticed these messages in the event log. Although the
messages are logged a few days ago.

Actually both can happen, not just one exclusivly.
