closing applications

When signed onto internet, after a few moments, I get a
message that says "Internet Explorer has experienced a
problem and needs to close, all material not saved will
be lost". Then everything closes. Can anyone help solve
the problem so this stops happening. I have Norton
anitvirus and am virus free.

I need help.
