How to close unused ports (like ICMP Ping,21 FTP, 23
Telnet)
Try to find which programs/services have opened the port and prevent them
from running or install a firewall and tell it not to allow the applications
to open the port/act as servers

For FTP and Telnet simply disable the FTP server service and Telnet server
service. The best option is to install a firewall though.
