I am getting the message:
Serious problem - your computer wuill shut down in x
number of minutes and restart.
I thought I had got rid of this after using the Fx Sasser
tool remover,although it say that, I did not have the
virus on this machine.

That sounds a bit like the Blaster worm...

Once you are "clean" make sure your firewall is enabled, run windows update
regularly and use decent anti virus S/W.
