I will have to buy several (probably a little less than 10000) runtime
licenses for WXPE; i intend to clone my targets; what shall i enter as PID
in Target Designer ? will i have to enter each PID manually for every target
?

By the way, what are the "Deployment Identification Settings" parameters for
?

Pascal,

No, you can use only one PID number in your XPe image that you are planning to clone to all the devices covered by the license you
purchased. You will have to put COA stickers on all the devices, though.

Some useful links for you:

Thanks, it answers perfectly my question.

(hoping that COA stickers do not need to be licked... ;) )
(10000 licks... sounds like a Rolling Stone Album)

Hi,

I have the same problem but only with 80 devices ;) . I have a Ghost
image with the final XPe Image. I would like to know if i could clone the
image without any problems (i will have several of these WXPE in the same
network with diferents IP addr)

Regards

Hi ZerBit,

You should not have problems, since reseal/cloning will make you unique images for each device.
Have you read links that Konstantin posted?

Hi Slodoban,

Perhaps i don´t explain myself very well in the last mail, sorry. My
ghost image doesn´t include System Cloning Tool component so what happens if
i use it for several devices?

Also i have another question about reseal proc.

1.- I create an Image with System Cloning Tool component.
2.- I run that image in the device (FBA)
3.- I must configured some params and also configure some hardware
(IRQ), some registry keys and install several services
4.- I must create a master run-time image, with norton Ghost.

... then, for each device

5.- Copy the master run-time image to the devices.
6.- Boot the device and allow the First Boot Agent (FBA) phase to run,
as the documentation says, but why FBA must be executed now? Must i execute
any app to do this or is autoexecuted? All changes that i have made in the
point 3 are saved correctly?

Kind regards.

Ok,

I have seen that article, it is really great!!

Then, basically, fbareseal change SID and the machine name, isn´t it?

Regards.

Hi,
Then, basically, fbareseal change SID and the machine name, isn´t it?

Right, and few more things, look at the product documentation. This happens after the reboot.

Hi Slodoban,

I have tested and i have done my first reseal ;D

Reseal proc. in light points

1.- Create an Image with System Cloning Tool component.
2.- Run that image in the device (run FBA)
3.- Configure some params, hardware, app and registry keys and install
services.
4.- Create a master run-time image, with norton Ghost.

.... then, for each device

5.- Copy the master run-time image to the devices.
6.- Boot the device and execute fbreseal.exe. Reboot the machine.
7.- Configure network params, get machine name to our documentation.

Perhaps i would execute point 6 between 3 and 4, i will try this point.
Also i don´t know why fbreseal.exe -keepall doesn´t keep the network
configuration.

I thought that in Saturdays and Sundays there was few people 'working' ;)

Kind regards.

Hi ZerBit,

Appropriate order:

1.- Create an Image with System Cloning Tool component.
2.- Run that image in the device (run FBA)
3.- Configure some params, hardware, app and registry keys and install services.
4.- Execute fbreseal.exe. shutdown the machine.
5.- Create a master run-time image, with norton Ghost.

6.- Copy the master run-time image to the devices.
7.- Configure network params, get machine name to our documentation.
