clock not keeping good time

My clock is extremely fast, and I can actualluy observe
teh uneveness of the the seconds (it's definitely no
metronome). Also the date does not change. Does anyone
know what I can do to fix this?

Such things as faulty battery on mainboard can cause clock time to be wrong,
also time related settings in bios or timezones in windows, or at worse a
virus...
