Clipart saved no longer shows as image but as <hyperlink>

Clipart was copied from online clipart files and saved into Word docs and
Outlook calendar. In both cases now when saved doc or calendar is reopened,
it just shows <hyperlink> in words and no image. However if this doc or
calendar is emailed to someone and they open it, original clipart can then be
seen. Is there some kind of setting that got changed. Originally the clipart
could be seen when opening doc or calendar...this just started 3 weeks ago.
