client side processing of an image,

I want to be able to stream an image down to a client and allow the user
to work with that image. Being able to zoom in/our and view different
parts of the image is important. Is there any way to allow the user to
work with the image, in case it was large or a panaramic view(360 degrees),
before it was fully downloaded.

You would need an ActiveX control for the user to be able to edit the image
in the web browser.
