Anyone know how to uninstall this? It wont let me change
the way I log on because it is in there, even disabled.
What do I do?

If you uninstall the Client either in Network Properties or thru Add/Remove
Programs, then replace nwgina.dll back to msgina.dll @
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GinaDLL.

OK, this is an old post, but maybe someone will see it and give me an answer.
I have the same problem, BUT, I did not uninstall it in Add/Remove (b/c it
is not listed) nor did I uninstall in any properties (B/c it is not listed
there either).

I know I have it 1) b/c I have the login problem and get an error msg
stating that it must be removed and 2) loss of fast switch and 3)it is listed
under Network Clients. But I cannot find it to get rid of it.

I went to the mentioned registery location but only have Credentials,
GPExtensions, Notify SCLogon and SpecialAccounts - no GenaDll. ANY
ideas****
thanks in advance.

It probably won't be in Add/Remove Programs, but it surely will be in the
Network Properties screen you get when you right-click your network
connection icon and select Properties. You can remove it by un-checking it
there.

Thanks for the reply, Richard. I understand what you are saying, but I
don't see the icons. for sake of my sanity, plz spell the steps out b/c I
cannot find the properties that you are talking about - and which I am sure
will solve my problem.

When I go to network connections, the left pane is blank. When I go to my
network places I see 3 links to the 98 computer, but cannot find a properties
to click on. One post said to click on view network connections, then right
click on the lan icon, then properties ... but I had no lan icon. When I go
to workgroup VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS returns blank, WIEW WORKGROUP
COMPUTERS shows my winxp, and MY NETWORK PLACES returns the 98 machine and
properties on each of these shows the name only.

Thannk u for your time and patience.

Go to the Control Panel and open the Network Connections icon. For most XP
computers you will have a "Local Area Connection" icon, this icon is
generally the primary network connection. Right-click it and select
Properties. You should see a list of network clients and protocols
installed on your computer. This is where you can remove the Netware
client.

Thank you Richard for leading me by the hand. Now I know that I am not
crazy. I went to the Control Panel and clicked on Network Connections. When
Network connections window appeared (takes awhile) the right panel was blank.
There were no icons or anything else showing. in the LEFT panel (outlined
in different shades of blue) were the following
---network tasks---
create a new connection
set up a home or small office network
---see also---
network troubleshooter
---other places---
control panel
my network places
my documents
my computer
---details---
network connections

so now what-how do i get fast switching?
thanks for the reply

Thanks again for your patience:
By the steps:
restart and do not start any program (othen than what is normally started):
click on start,
click on control panel in blue area,
dbl clilck on Network Connections Icon,
wait for window to apprear. When it apprears, the white area of the window
is blank--just as i described above. There are NO ICONS. (Following these
same steps on a PC not on this network displayed the icons which you
described.)

FYI: i was playing with the neetwork trouble shooter and received the
following msg:
"NETWORK CONNECTIONS pop up window:
The Network Connections Folder was unable to retrieve the list of Network
adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the Network Connections
service is enabled and running."

Does it help any? I think it leaves me with Netware half installed.
