Client not receiving DHCP lease from RIS boot disk

Hi,

I have just RIPrepped a pc so that I have an image for my ris server and I
have created a remote boot disk for my clients. The remote boot fails saying
it is unable to obtain a dhcp lease. The same PC when booted with the local
OS collects a lease fine.
I know my DCHP server is working as it is servicing other pcs on the network
no problem, I can see the leases and it is autorized.
Have I forgotten anything?

Thanks in advance,

Niall

Hi,

Requrement for RIS imgage is that distribution the folder containting the
ris image is shared and has at least the READ access permision.

Other stuff is that the Client NEtwork Adapter must be PXE boot compliant

SO if I undertsand well you have created a boot floppy for your client
machine. have you try if it behaves simlar with a network cable
If yes verify points mentionned above

Hope it helps

"Niall" Iam "Elie raad" if the DHCP is servicing other Clients on your
network Please try to assign a reservation for the clients that the OS will
be installed bythe RIS .I think if you forgot to Delegate control in Active
directory to Clients to join the domain
Do it .Email:[email protected] waiting for your reply..
