ClickOnce Vista .Net 3.0 install bug?

I have Vista Home Premium as configured on a new Dell machine.

I have been able to deploy/launch XBAP's from IIS localhost, but trying to
run a .application type app caused IE to bring up a dialog saying ".Net 3.0
is not installed, please install it." Of course, trying to install .Net 3.0
will fail because it's already on Vista. This leaves a .application from not
being able to run on my machine.

Does anybody know anything about the popup, and why it might be coming up?

For testing, you can click on the link below to see if you can repro:

I've been told it worked on Vista Ultimate, but nobody has been able to
verify it works for them on Vista Home or Vista Home Premium.

It seems odd that XBAP's work, but .application causes IE to think .NET 3.0
is not installed...any ideas ??? Could this be a bug :)

thanx

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS M1710 running Windows Vista Home Premium.
I tried your smart client application and it ran without error.

This is a follow up.

The problem was that the Dell Vista image didn't setup the .application
registry settings correctly.

After buying Vista, reformatting, and re-installing, everything is working
fine.

I only hope I'm the only person who got the bad image :)
