Hi

I have opened an account with clickbank so I can sell an ebook on there.
I have used a PHP script that was provided and this has protected my thank
you page which customers are directed to when they have successfully paid.
But I have a link on this page to download a zipped version of my pdf ebook.
I've spent hours trying to get the PHP to work and finally did it to only
then to realise it would be very easy to get the url of the zip itself and
have it freely downloaded. doh.

Need some ideas please, how can I protect my zip file.

Thanks
John

John,
This is kind of a very tricky issue. What it would really involve
would me a membership or user management system that would track user
purchases and then make links available to them through a script. They
wouldn't necessarily be linked to the ebook files directly, instead the
files could be outside the web site on the server, in a way that only a
script can open them and then stream them to the user. Using a script to
handle the files in this way also enables a verification of all users
attempting to download a particular file to make sure that they are truly
authorised to do so.

Hope this helps,
