Cleartype

I have just bought a TFT monitor. I am running Windows XP pro. The cleartype option in 'display propeties - appearance - effects' is greyed out. Any ideas why? I have tried different screen resolution settings.

found with a search in Google Groups:

Right click My Computer icon/Properties/Advanced/Performance/
Settings/Scroll down to Smooth edges of screen fonts.....and place a check
in the box.
If it doesn't change the settings under Effects and it should, run either
edit on line 236: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
