How do I clear lists of searched items when typing into such sites as google
or entering information into blank spots? It gets embarassing when someone
wants to use my computer to search and when typing in "s" to google they are
able to see that I searched for "serial killers in southern ohio" (for a
school paper :-P) previously. Thanks anyone who helps with this!!!!

this is a lay woman's answer . . . when I'm on a multi use machine, I go to
Tools > Internet Options > General Tab> and I delet the cookies, I delete
the files, and I clear my history. But I'm looking forward to more
sophisticated replys :)

Go to internet options..content tab..autocomplete button. There you can
clear forms and passwords. You can also disable autocomplete there.

To modify your settings for the AutoComplete feature or clear all items from
the list of form or password suggestions, follow these steps in Internet
Explorer:

1.On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2.Click the Content tab.
3.Click AutoComplete.
4.Click the appropriate AutoComplete check boxes, or click Clear Forms or
Clear Passwords to clear all saved items from the appropriate AutoComplete
history.
5.Click OK, and then click OK.

To clear individual items from the list of form or password suggestions,
click the item in the list of suggestions for that field and then press
DELETE. The AutoComplete list automatically appears when you perform any of
the following actions on a previously populated form:

* Type the first character in the field
* Press the UP or DOWN keys in the field
* Double-click a blank area in the field

You can also use the "Clear History" button in the General tab of Internet
Options.

Besides the Run MRU (Most Recently Used) list, this also clears...

IE History, AutoComplete, Clear the TIF, Clear the Run MRU, Typed
URL's and Clear List:

XP Start Menu:
You have to switch to Classic long enough to get the Clear button.
Right click the Start button | Properties | Select Classic Start Menu |
Customize button | Clear button | Click OK | Select Start menu | Click Apply
|Click OK

Classic Start Menu:
Right click the Start button | Properties | Customize button | Clear button

Clear button
[[Removes the list of recently accessed documents, programs, and Web sites
from the Documents menu.]]
