Clearing out bad names from the autofill memory

How do I delete old names/entries from the autofill in the "to" field so
that I can't choose them anymore (or they are not recognized anymore)?

When the list pops-up use your arrow keys to select them and press DELETE on
your keyboard.

I've tried this and the names don't delete. Old names never "fall off" from
lack of use. Pretty sure my file is full becasue new names no longer
auto-fill.

Assumptions are not likely to be correct. The names do delete with this
method. Old names will in fact fall off when your cache exceeds 1000. If new
names are not added it means you have a corrupt profile and must create a
new one.

Then perhaps I'm not "deleting" properly or if my profile is corrupt, how do
I repair/replace it? Currently, I'm using the arrow keys to highlight names I
wish to delete and then hit the delete key. On several clean-up attempts,
I've deleted dozens of unused names--only to find later that they still
appear in a autofill list of options and recently used names do not show up
and must be re-keyed from scratch.

As I said, if changes you make are not persisting, you have a corrupt
profile and must create a new one.
