Clearing internet history

When I go to control panel and clear my history, I can go
back to internet explorer and click on the history button
on the tool bar, and my history is still there, I have to
manually delete the history. I have MSIE 6.0 sp1, Windows
XP Pro, with a virus program, and firewall installed also
I have a spyware program installed and have ran it and
there is no instances of anything amiss with the system.
No viruses, no spyware, no nothing. Any and all help is
appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mike.

Mike,
With no IE windows open, try it from Control Panel> Internet Options>
General> Clear History.

You might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Another program might be locking your history.
