Clearing history--websites still on address bar

I was wondering how to clear out the address bar. After
I clear history, cookies, and files the address bar still
has the websites.

For instance, I've been checking airfair. Now, anytime I
type: www.a american airlines drops down. or www.d
delta drops down. Is there any way to clear that too?

Joe,
You probably have corruption in the History folder or it's index.dat file.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
